On the 24th of July, 16 teachers from the Cuvu participated in a 3 hour Fire Life and Safety Awareness Session for Teachers at Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa.
The Awareness session was facilitated by Mr Nemani Delaibatiki; the resort’s Fire, Life and Safety Manager. The objective of the session was to equip and empower teachers with knowledge to prepare them to be Fire Wardens ensuring as far as possible , the safety and welfare of students, teachers and school property.
Among the 12 schools invited were the 4 Bilo Bar Kindergarten teachers. The session proved to be successful, teachers shared that they could now confidently use a fire extinguisher and will ensure that they will extend this awareness to their schools and communities.
