OUR 2022 REUNION IS IN FULL SWING AND IT’S GREAT TO SEE OVER 80 BILO BAR CLUB MEMBERS ENJOYING THEMSELVES. IT’S GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK AT YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME!
Our reunion celebrations and activities couldn’t happen without the tireless support from the Management and Team at Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji. On behalf of our trustees and members we thank the resort, who continues to support the Bilo Bar Club every year since its inception, for it’s continued contribution to our causes.
This year, as with every year, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji has donated the following;
– FJD500 Yanuca Cup prize money
– Fashions of the field prizes
– 5 nights stay giveaway
– Marquee hire
We also thank Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji for their ongoing support of the Bilo Bar Club with the following ongoing benefits being made to the club and our members;
– A full time resort team member dedicated to supporting our efforts (Bula Wana!)
– Members Polo T-shirts, Sulu’s, Membership Pins and Tapa certificates
– Complimentary weekly meet the team cocktail and induction party
– Complimentary in-house member benefits and discounted accommodation rates
It goes without saying also; to our members and trustees we offer our sincere thanks for your tireless dedication and commitment to our clubs success through your continued patronage at the resort and your generous donations to our club. You are an integral part of our success and we thank you sincerely for everything you continue to do.
This years reunion is the first October reunion post the COVID world we endured for nearly 3 years, and its testament to our members dedication to the resort that we have welcomed over 80 Bilo Bar Club members to this years October Reunion.
Our program of events has indeed been reduced for this year, due to a couple of factors beyond our control. Namely, COVID restrictions are still in play in Fiji and the access to Kindergartens is strictly limited, both for the kids to visit the resort and for us to visit the Kindies. The resort also played host to a major music concert at the time our reunion would normally have commenced, and combined with Melbourne Cup falling on the 1st of November has made for a tightened program. We hope to be back in full swing for next years program though; so please let us know what you would like to see!
So far we have enjoyed our Calcutta and Melbourne Cup fundraising activities which have raised over $16,000 for the club; a great result that is immensely appreciated.
Our AGM was held, where the quorum voted Mr. Graeme Harvey into the position of Imperial Bilo and Mr. David Neaves, Mr. Mike Mulchay and Mr. Rob Bendle as Trustees.
The new look gala dinner took place on Thursday evening, with a revised format consisting of a relaxed share-plate style dinner. Approx 70 members enjoyed the evening where Kevin & Sue Brett took out the raffle prize of a 5-night stay.
We now look forward to Booce and Beers, Golf and one more Meet the Team Cocktail Party before we draw to a close this years celebrations.
Photos below are from Melbourne Cup day, with more photos to follow; as much as the Fiji internet connection will allow anyways 🙂
